My name is Alan Rait and I’m an Equity Release and Later Life Lending Specialist working with Yorkshire Equity Release. I arrange Lifetime Mortgages for people over the age of 50, if the circumstances are correct!

I’ve worked all my life in financial services, and since 2014 I’ve been working exclusively with Lifetime Mortgages. This is a market I can readily engage with as I’m a few years over state retirement age myself! I live in North Manchester so my working area of choice is the North West of England, West and South Yorkshire, and further afield as required. I can conduct business on the phone, Zoom, WhatsApp but my preferred method is  face to face.

Equity Release is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). It’s also covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). For extra protection and peace of mind, there are also the guarantees offered by the Equity Release Council (ERC).

To work in the Equity Release market, I have to be specially qualified. Very few independent financial advisers (IFAs), accountants or bank managers hold the necessary qualifications to advise on Equity Release.
